Mutation
Shown at DanCelebration 2005 Arizona USA. "This dance is about height, 3D, sculpture and the evolutionary chain. Our orginal dance was surrounded by a wonderful design from Bui Bolg Street Thatre Company from Wexford, Ireland. Encasing the dancers was a representation of a DNA Chain (which also coincidentally looks like a Solar System suspended in time). A running theme that I used in this choreography is about growth, how we adapt to our environment, how our DNA structure is unique, how it breaks down and how the secret of life is all held within our DNA. Images of nerve endings, pumping blood vessels, displaced limbs and curious nonhuman shapes abound in this work. Texture is added by a diverse soundtrack creating moods and hints of personalities."
